Special sand for fuses
REPLACEMENT SAND FOR IN-SITU DENSITY TESTS : grading according to BS 1377: PART9 – ASTM D 1556-07
CARACTERISTICS
This sand is made of dry natural siliceous sand (silica content higher than 97 %), the water content of which is lower than 0,1 %. It is free from flakey particles, silt, clay and organic matter. The constituent grains of the sand are uncrushed and rounded form. The sand is packaged in 25 kg bags. It is used for public works and allows the measurement of soils or granulated material density. It is employed with sand-cone density apparatus.
CONTROLS
The grading of replacement sand is according to BS 1377-9 and ASTM®* D 1556. The average grading of the sand is as follow:
